Program Components

MY Good Health program components consist of student training, volunteer service, and service learning projects. Students meet once a month for training to assist them design and implement service days addressing health issues such as health literacy, childhood obesity, oral hy­giene, health & social issues of the aging.

Student Training

During the year students will complete 10 training modules:

  • Introduction to MY Good Health
  • Service Learning
  • Understanding Health Literacy
  • Health Careers
  • Vulnerable Populations & Cultural Competencies
  • Identify Needs & Project Focus
  • Assessing Materials & Identifying Resources
  • Health Care Skills
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Surveying Providers & Organizations
  • Developing an Implementation Plan for Projects

Recognition
Students completing all phases of the MY Good Health program will receive a certificate of completion. Additionally, the students who perform the volunteer hours above the required 25 hours of volunteer service will receive a special "Above and Beyond" recognition.
