The following information and procedures pertain directly to job shadowing at Phelps County Regional Medical Center (PCRMC). Many other hospitals, clinics, and health systems offer job shadowing and will likely have similar application requirements; however, we ask that you contact other facilities on your own.

Mid-MO AHEC can offer shadowing opportunities in many PCRMC departments, but arrangements will NOT be made to shadow with physicians. If you wish to shadow a physician, you will need to personally make arrangements. If that physician spends any time practicing in PCRMC or its clinics, you must complete and return the paperwork to the AHEC office.

Who is eligible to participate?

• High school juniors and seniors
• College students
• Individuals exploring a second career

You may shadow up to 24 hours under this process; 25 hours and beyond require you to attend PCRMC New Employee Orientation. New Employee Orientation occurs every other Monday and will be scheduled by AHEC through Human Resources. Space is limited, and naturally, new employees have priority.

Only complete job shadowing applications will be considered. A complete application includes:

Page 4: HIPAA Privacy Statement with signature
Page 5: Tuberculosis Skin Test Results with signatures
Page 6: Important Details with signature

Complete applications will be processed in the order they are received. Applications received by Friday during the first week of the month will be scheduled for the third week of the month. Those received the second week of the month will be scheduled for the fourth week of the month, and so on.
