Missouri Free Clinics Association

In 2000, Mid-MO AHEC received a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Volunteers in Healthcare (VIH) to create a statewide association of free clinics. The association was created to serve clinics with a mission to provide free health care to indigent and underserved populations using mainly volunteer providers. The association was designed to provide networking, collaboration, advocacy and resource development opportunities for its members. For more information about the association, contact Heather Light. Also, see the VIH website at www.volunteersinhealthcare.org for information on free clinics, grants, networking and educational opportunities.

    Privace and Security Policy

The Missouri Area Health Education (MAHEC) statewide system aims to enhance access to quality health care - particularly primary and preventative care - by improving the supply and distribution of health care professionals through community/academic educational partnerships. These efforts are supported in part with funds from the Missouri DHSS; the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Bureau of Health Professionals (BHrP); and local support mechanisms. Additional information about MAHEC may be obtained at www.mahec.org
