The Missouri Area Health
Education (MAHEC) statewide system aims to enhance access to quality health
care - particularly primary and preventative care - by improving the supply
and distribution of health care professionals through community/academic
educational partnerships. These efforts are supported in part with funds
from the Missouri DHSS; the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
(DHHS), Bureau of Health Professionals (BHrP); and local support mechanisms.
