This multi-pronged program provides Missouri high school students with comprehensive career planning and assistance toward a future career in nursing. Each student's individual career plan is custom-designed to meet their needs in becoming a nurse professional. The ACES program functions based on partnerships between Missouri AHEC, the students, their family-support, and their local communities.

What do ACES students receive?
ACES students gain a competitive edge in attaining their health career goals due to Missouri AHEC's resources and partnerships with nursing schools and universities.

Shadowing experiences and mentoring with local health care professionals:

  • Customized career counseling including information on financial aid and other educational resources;
  • Priority consideration for financial aid from the PRIMO forgivable loan and the Health Professional Nursing Student Loan
  • Access to a variety of other opportunities including paid internships, visiting with legislators, community service projects, and more!

Privace and Security Policy

The Missouri Area Health Education (MAHEC) statewide system aims to enhance access to quality health care - particularly primary and preventative care - by improving the supply and distribution of health care professionals through community/academic educational partnerships. These efforts are supported in part with funds from the Missouri DHSS; the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Bureau of Health Professionals (BHrP); and local support mechanisms. Additional information about MAHEC may be obtained at www.mahec.org
